Healthy Soil: the Compost Climate Connection

Healthy Soil ~ Healthy Food ~ Healthy People ~ Healthy Planet

Over the millennia the evolution of our natural biosphere created regenerative ecosystems that continuously balanced the carbon cycle between the atmosphere (our air), the geosphere (our soil) and the hydrosphere (our water).

With the onset of the industrial and information age, increasing populations and accelerating urbanization have dealt with “our organic waste” as if it were a “sanitation problem” rather than a valuable source to produce compost to sustain the natural biosphere.

If we are to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emissions, the existential challenge for our generation and communities is to restore the biosphere through the application of compost to restore the health of our soils. Healthy soil will re-balance our spheres through photosynthesis and carbon sequestration.
